Bamboo is ecological

Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world and thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilizers. Bamboo only needs rainwater to grow. Very little, if any, additional water is ever required. Bamboo is a grass and is cut, not uprooted, so it is good for soil – particularly as it can grow on slopes not suitable for other crops.
